History, art & culture in the Allgäu Region
A region with numerous facets
Arts & culture lovers have so much to choose from in the Allgäu Region: Stroll through Füssen's picturesque Old Town or visit one of the world-famous royal castles of Ludwig II. Walk in the footsteps of the ancient Romans along the Via Claudia Augusta and in the Cambodunum Park in Kempten. And the ruins of numerous fortresses offer an interesting picture of life long before our time.
Art lovers can marvel at the frescoes in Oberammergau or search for traces of "Der Blaue Reiter" (The Blue Rider) in the Werdenfelser Land region. Visits to the first-class museums and exhibits that can be found in Füssen and the surroundings are also very popular.
